all about. You could say, we’re a bit like the popular TV chef, Emeril Lagasse. We pick out the best educational content,
slice it up, mix it into classic popular computer games, and create gourmet dishes of computer learning CDs.
Like any helpful chef,
we’ve also created for you, a
fantastic utentsil that we call, Computer Game Maker LIte. Computer Game Maker Lite let’s you cook
up learning games with your own content and ingredients.

So, you arrived at our site from somewhere out in this vast wide world,
and we welcome you! "What is this Windmill Works Educational site about," you ask. A little of our history
might explain.
We started off creating
and designing educational (edutainment) software for the deaf and hard of hearing because the president of our company has her degree in deaf education and has taught deaf
and hard of hearing children from pre-school though adult basic education. In addition, she has been a sign language
interpreter for deaf students at the high school and college level. We bagan our software development, therefore, with
programs geared for the deaf and hard of hearing population. Soon, however, the language and vocabulary building software expanded into other areas of history and social study edutainment learning programs such as
Black American History, US Presidents history trivia, and US Presidents IQ Solitiare. We've recently updated the complete US Presidents Solitaire to an Obama Solitaire
version and the Presidents Solitaire deck of cards to the Obama version as well.
Throughout the development or our educational software, the idea of empowering parents and teachers
to create computer learning games with customized content was always a goal of our software company. Thus,
Computer Game Maker was designed. This software is essential an authoring tool that allows teachers, speech pathologists, special
ed teachers, parents, and even students themselves to design their own custom-made computer learning games. This
program contains four different games to program with the same content in each, giving students a variety of ways to interact
with learning material that has been customized to their particular individual needs.
Computer Game Maker soon evolved into an extremely user friendly version which we light to call
Computer Game Maker-Lte. This software program is a simflified version of Computer Game Maker which lets the teacher, parent, or student create content which is automatically programmed into the
popular memory matching game that is loved by all ages. In addition to being simple and easy to use, Computer Game Maker-Lite allows the user to import MP3 voice files. Thus when teaching a vocabulary or language
concept, the student can listen to the prompt and look for the word or phrase. As all of the computer games
in our series, this game is meant to reinforce vocabulary, language and reading skills.
